COVID-19 Vaccine Update 1/5/2020

Category: Uncategorized

Thank you to everyone who has registered for vaccine appointment callbacks so far. Our health department staff are hard at work calling everyone who has signed up. We received more than 2,000 registrants in the first four days, so we ask that you please be patient with our staff as they work through these lists. You can register to be contacted for an appointment online at: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/shdcovidvaccine

We would also like to remind everyone that we receive a limited allotment of vaccine each week and that our supply of vaccine determines how many people we are able to vaccinate.

As vaccination begins to open for larger portions of the population, it is important to remember that public health will not be the only provider for vaccinations within our area and that vaccine distribution from public health district to public health district will vary. This means that the information we post on our website and social pages only applies to our health departments within our 10 counties (Ben Hill, Berrien, Brooks, Cook, Echols, Irwin, Lanier, Lowndes, Tift and Turner).

Our staff are working extremely hard to get as many people vaccinated as quickly as possible, but please know that things are likely to change as we learn and grow throughout this response. We appreciate your patience and understanding.
