South Health District

Although Tuberculosis (TB) is preventable and curable, many people in the United States still suffer from the disease.

To protect every adult and child, DPH established Georgia Preteen Vaccine Awareness Week, observed March 12-16, 2018, to serve as a reminder for parents to talk with their preteens and teens about getting immunized against vaccine-preventable diseases.

DPH has confirmed three flu-related deaths in South Health District. These are the first confirmed flu-related deaths in the District this flu season.

Health departments in Ben Hill, Berrien, Brooks, Cook, Echols, Irwin, Lanier, Lowndes, Tift and Turner Counties will begin offering FREE flu shots to uninsured adults tomorrow, January 30, while supplies last.
