Want to find out more information about programs and services being offered at your local health department? Well, here’s your chance to learn more, enjoy refreshments and possibly win door prizes!

Ben Hill County Health Department is gearing up to host a health fair on Thursday, April 10 from 11 am to 6 pm at their facility. Car seat checks will be conducted from 4 to 6 pm by Georgia State Patrol from Douglas.

“We are offering blood pressure checks, blood sugar checks, hemoglobin checks and more,” states Chris Naylor, RN, county nurse manager. “We encourage people in the community to come by the health fair to learn more about what we have to offer in public health and take advantage of the day’s events.”

Information will be available on programs such as Family Planning, WIC, BreasTest & More and chronic disease. The health department is located at 251 Appomattox Road in Fitzgerald. For more information on the health fair call 426-5288.
