Family Planning Changes

Making sure families have access to family planning care has always been a central focus of public health. While that is still the case, Family Planning programs in health departments across Georgia are undergoing changes and as a result, there will be some new requirements for patients seeking those services.

Flu Vaccine Now Available

All health departments within South Health District have begun offering seasonal flu vaccinations to the general public. The CDC recommends the vaccine for everyone 6 months of age and older.

Second Horse tests positive for EEE

A second horse in Lowndes County has tested positive for Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE), a mosquito-borne illness.

Guard Against Mosquito-borne Illnesses

A horse in Lowndes County tested positive for Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE) and mosquito pools have tested positive for EEE and West Nile Virus (WNV) this season.
